Update from Eswatini: A Journey of Love, Joy, and Resilience
Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while, but I’m so excited to finally catch you up. We’ve made it to Manzini, Eswatini, and I have to say, it’s absolutely stunning here. I am sprawled out in a hammock right now on our day of sabbath, taking in the amazing views Manzini has to offer, blue skies, hills and mountains as far as you can see, and mango trees that we get to snack on.
We’ve just wrapped up our second week of ministry, and wow, it’s been an adventure. There are 32 care points across Eswatini, and we’re serving at one called Bovinny. It’s been such a privilege to work alongside the Bomaage (the shepherds and cooks), who are just incredible women. We’ve had the chance to get to know them, hear their stories, and work side by side. They are so strong, and their hearts are so full of love and compassion.
And I couldn’t be prouder of my team. Everyone has been showing up with servant hearts, and I’ve seen Jesus in all of them. Kids ministry has definitely been challenging – the heat is intense, and the days are long – but the kids here are absolutely inspiring.
They’ve been through so much, but they’re still able to find joy in the smallest things, and that joy is contagious. Their laughter is what makes it all worth it.
It’s been amazing to see how much we’ve been able to give to these kids, and in turn, how much we’ve received. A lot of these kids have never experienced the kind of love and care that we’re able to show them, and to be a part of that has been such a blessing. It’s a reminder that God is so generous with His love, and it’s been an honor to be a vessel for that love and joy here in Manzini.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support – they’ve made such a difference. I’ll keep you updated as we continue this journey, but for now, I’m going to enjoy the hammock, the mangoes, and the stunning views of this place.
Blessings to you all!
